Babies Are Boring

This kid’s older brothers are Kevin and Alvin (named after the the best person in the world of course..moi).  So when my aunt was pregnant I was tasked to find another “vin” name.  Here’s my list and my uncle’s responses

• Calvin: sounded too much like Kevin especially with the Chinese accent
• Devin: “sounds like devil”
• Davin: “uh..huh?”
• Corvin: “sounds weird”, “No! my friend is Corvin” – Alvin, the preschooler
• Gavin: (my personal fav) “what kind of name is that?!”
• Evin: (sounds like Evan, still has the ‘vin’) “I  guess it’s ok”

I even tried to pass off Vincent but no the baby’s birth certificate says “Edvin”.  EDVIN!  “I made it up myself, pretty special right?” says Uncle.  Uh, no.  Uncle says he will consider changing it if I look into what it takes to change his name.  Consider it done.
